We are already seeing problems with the new healthcare entitlement. We have been informed that due to the HCR we will be facing much higher insurance premiums through our employer. Maybe as much as 70% higher. So much for affordable healthcare. The whole thing is a sham and I for one do not want to foot the bill for the masses! Very frustrating and discouraging.

It’s sad to see people tearing apart the American dream because they don’t trust their fellow Americans. I know it’s hard sit back in a democracy and accept what the majority would prefer, especially if you disagree with it. Unfortunately there is a strong and powerful minority who’s goal is to reverse much of what the founding fathers built. I hope we don’t go too far in that direction. On the other end of the spectrum, there are the baby boomers and nothing in this country will happen without their support. I don’t see any ideas on this website for addressing the social security and medicare of the baby boomers, which are major parts of the financial problem we find ourselves in because our government failed to plan when it had the opportunity. You are seeing the results of the Republicans’ “starve the beast” strategy now. The first step of that strategy was to run up the debt and lower taxes (ouch). The second step will be to dramatically re-shape our government. It’s not going to be fun.
