“Last night in only his second Oval Office address, President Obama announced the end of Operational Iraqi Freedom. He said we have given the Iraqis a Western-style government. Well, we certainly have, haven’t we? Their economy is in shambles, their Congress is corrupt, the country is broke, welcome aboard!” – Jay Leno

We all are concerned with government spending, but what I am not hearing is what do we cut? We also know people in power are going get their way. The government is like a kindrgarten class with limited sweets to hand out. I don’t care which kindergatener you put in the class you are going ot get the same result. To substantially cut, we have to look at subsadies in all areas. low, middle, and wealthy class. Who are going to grow a pair and give up what the have making more expensive to exploit overseas labor and employ at home. So all this party labeling is useless. Greedy SOBs comes in all affiliations. We need an Independent political group cause we do best when are in the middle not on the fringes.
No the real “joke” is that the GOP and its corporate allies are responsible for not only putting the Iraqi’s in the position they are now in, but they started a war that had no justification, imposed their own version of a “Western-styled government”, and then expected everything to work, even though it hasn’t even worked back here at home. The reason is simple, when you run a government the same way corrupt executives run companies, you get a singular result, corruption. And lets not forget the most fundamental principle that was easily learned at the end of the WWII in Europe, it takes a lot of money, resources, and an international collective, to help rebuild a war-torn country. What made the GOP believe that one country alone could rebuild a country, and install a foreign type of government, and everything would work? And then turn around and blame the current administration for all these failures, but also complain that President Obama didn’t essentially give former President Bush a pat on the back as a way of thanking him for making the mess in the first place. No the jokes on the GOP, because contrary to what they think, the “People” don’t have short term memories, only the GOP politicians do.
The Republicans started two wars, that had no logical reason. They spent TRILLIONS on these same wars. They are responsible for thousands of dead on both sides! Obama tried to bring back the troops and end this neverending war in Iraq. Yes they are in shambles, but because the Bush administration fooled Congress and much of the world into believing that Iraq had ” weapons of mass destruction” that myth was proven over and over again! For that alone Bush should be tried as a war criminal!
Unfortunately the conservatives have the loudest mouthpieces. Just as Hitler was able to fool the Germans into thinking that war, and genocide would be good for Germany. Bush and his cronies in the right wing media, have convinced many of the ignorant into thinking that they have our best interests in mind.
Alright ,i guess it’s still –blame it on pres. Bush time with all the “libs” but what i want to know is — if there were no weapons of mass destruction , then what do you call gassing the Kurds dead in thier homes and killing whole villages? Is that not to be considered a type of weapon of “mass” destruction ?????
I read these agonizingly endless, tired, partisan blame game remarks, from both sides, and can only roll my eyes contemptuously and sadly shake my head. If any of them were capable of an ounce of objectivity they would realize the approaching financial apocalypse is the result of fifty years of institutionalized incompetence, arrogance, corruption and irresponsibility by both political parties. But the shortsighted, brainwashed, placcard waving true believers seem to find some bizarre satisfaction in championing one brand of incompetance over another. I have this premonition that even as we sink into the financial abyss, they will beam in self satisfaction if in the end it is proven that their side was only 49% to blame, while the other side was 51%.
Both sides are to blame. Just when you think one party can’t be more idiotic you get a surprise. The Empire is collapsing
and they are arguing over parking spaces
