Here’s a roundup of this morning’s must-read budget and economic stories:

Politico reports Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says U.S. debt problems are not in danger of reaching Greek levels.

The New York Times says Republicans will continue work on the FY 2013 budget this week. Meanwhile, Roll Call says some are wondering why Senate Budget Committee Chairman (D) plans to offer a budget outline this week.

The Hill and Politico preview votes that will be taken this week on tax issues.

CNN says the world economy is still fragile.

Congress will return this week and, according to The HillMcClatchy and Roll Call, will start to take a hard look at General Services Administration spending. According to Politico, one GSA official will plead the 5th instead of explaining his involvement. The Washington Post says some are looking for a criminal investigation. The Post has more here too.
