Here’s a roundup of this morning’s must-read budget and economic stories:

Politico looks at the difference in the spending levels the House and Senate have set for the fiscal year 2013 appropriations process.

The Hill and The Washington Post report the House has passed a package of small business tax cuts. Meanwhile, according to Bloomberg, the Senate is contemplating what to do about extending the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts.

According to Roll Call, the Senate will vote next week on a bill to reform the U.S. Postal Service.

The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal say there are questions about the strength of the economy.

On the opinion pages: The Washington Times says the GSA scandal is an indication of larger problems in government and Darrell Delamaide argues neither party is serious about budgeting.
