This would have been helpful if it could be downloaded as a PDF file.

Great suggestion Paul! We’ve included a link above the Briefing Book that will allow you to download it as a PDF. Just “right click” it and save the file to your computer. Hope that helps!

I would like to say I am not for eliminating any budget items for American’s. How about stop pouring all this money into our military. Tax all American rich at 90% for those making over $10m a year and 70% for those making over $5m per year on total income. I pay taxes for services such as roads, fire, police, schools, medicare, social security if you want to stop wasting government money stop outsourcing jobs and privatizing government.

    • Dan says:

Ameire, your economic ignorance is outdone only by your mindset of a theif. Americans tend to fall into two classifications; producers and parasites. You clearly fall in the latter group. Confiscating 90% of what successful producers have earned will lead to two certain outcomes: Those who have been successful will move to less larcenous countries and those with the desire and ability to be productive and successful will move as well. And if bloodsuckers like you do manage to defund the military, eventually your socialist utopia will be invaded and overrun by parasites with guns and you will be their slaves.

  7. Norma J. Sears says:

    Amerie,

You obviously need to do more homework to know what is really going on in the US. The 16th Amendment was never ratified by the required two-thirds of the states. Secretary Knox ignored the requirements (exact wording, spelling, and nothing added by all states) of the U.S. Constitution. Secretary of State Knox put it through by resolution. Wrong. They have used this a precedent just like the courts.

It’s time all citizen’s get themselves educated.

    • Bill says:

Both of you need a lesson in history.
Constitution [provides for a common defense. That means military, in case you don’t speak the language well.
16th Amendment was ratified in February of 1913 by the 36 of the states, Norma.
Ameire, how many people making over $10m/yr do you suppose there are in the US? Less than you think, I’ll bet.

  10. Matt L says:

Wow. Anyone who thinks government can do things better than the private sector needs to come work here for a while. One thing that would make it massively better would be to repeal the parts of the merit systems protections that serve to allow the mediocre employees to continue to be mediocre. Supervisors need to be able to fire more quickly without having to document things for a year or more. If there’s waste in government contracting, that’s what oversight is for.
