A new report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has taken aim at government redundancy and revealed how costly duplicative programs have been to taxpayers. In his State of the Union Address in January, President Obama pointed out the government redundancies in salmon regulation. Unfortunately, the overlap in government oversight doesn’t stop there. The GAO report provides some insight into just how serious the problem is.
