At 11:30 this morning, President Obama is scheduled to address the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The relationship between the President and the Chamber seems to have thawed since the contentious November mid-term elections.
The President is expected to work to gain support for plans to increase infrastructure “investment” – an initiative laid out in the recent State of the Union address.
While it’s important for President Obama and the Chamber of Commerce to work together toward economic recovery, it’s also important to keep in mind that “investment” is often simply a politically palatable term for more spending.
