According to the Economist, 30% of adults believe “most people” pay more than their fair share in taxes; 39% believe “most people” pay exactly their fair share; and 16% believe “most people” pay less than their fair share.

According to Rasmussen, 65% of adults do not expect today’s children to be better off than their parents. 21% are not sure what to expect.

According to Democracy Corps, 36% of likely voters think the country is headed in the right direction and 58% think it is headed in the wrong direction.

According to Rasmussen, 68% of adults think there are too many unnecessary laws in the United States today. 19% do not hold this view, but 13% are not sure.
