Since speech is supposedly free in America, I think maybe soon those couch potatoes that have been doing nothing, might be compelled to get up off there arses and start an American Spring. Clean house in Washington including lobbyists and power brokers sounds like a great way to start my day. Better hurry before China turns us into the next Hong Kong.

Some Tea Party members of Congress have already started avoiding free town hall meetings and are now appearing only at events where the ‘public’ has to buy a ticket to get in. You better hurry if you want your voice to be heard for free. These Tea Pary hypocrites can dish out the heat, but they can’t take it.

      • Tony Krause says:

the purpose is to weed out the people that have no interest to going there for the Tea Party ideals. because if you have someone that believes in a certain ideology, people would be more willing to pay for entrance for an event versus someone that opposes a viewpoint…however there are exceptions.

According to President Obama, it will all be fixed in September. Yea! If the don’t drop this gang of 12 and put Congress back to what they are PAID and ELECTED to do then America is going to see a lot worse times. And these people that have lived off the backs of us taxpayers all their lives are not going to make it, because they don’t know how. Every house will have to have a firearm for protection because they will be taking what they are used to getting handed to them.

The gang of 12…yeah… Sounds like some sort of ‘enforcers’ that would come to your house at night, break in while you sleep, drag you out in the middle of the night, intimidate your family while abducting you, beating the snot out of you in some desolate-deserted area, and leave you to rot or walk back home — bloodied and bruised. There is our gang of 12…beating the American people to a pulp.

we need to tax the rich share the wealth a little will it kill them to give a little and tighten thier belts a liitle I don’t think so I used to clean three houses a week for a company and these people had people come do there laundry iron thier sheets jeans and anythin gelse they wanted ironed . If you have enough money to hav two lexus’ in your garage , 2 maids once a week and a laundry lady plus garderning and landscapin services, I think you have a few dollars to spare for the econemy.

    • Tony Krause says:

thats right take the Robin Hood approach…tax the rich…tax the rich…because more taxes are the answer…

has it occurred to you that your previous job for cleaning houses three days a week came from the rich people? so tell them to tighten their belt…okay, so they might decide, well since hiring someone to do my work for me at home is too expensive, I will simply just not hire you…guess what? now your three day a week job has just become a NO day a week job…now take that and apply that to the corporate level…hello unemployment for more lower class…and more bankrupt government coming

by no means am I rich, I am making $23,000 a year with a family of four right now, and my wife only makes about $5000 a year, so well below the ‘poverty’ line, but i don’t take any government assistance (other than Pell grants for school), I work full-time and go to school full-time, etc…So any kind of tax stuff about saying the lower class isn’t taxed fairly…it’s true. I know that for a fact.

When you tax the ‘rich’ with over 40% of their income, it makes everyone hurt…because they already have the money, they could just choose to go overseas for their operations or close their doors and live off the revenues they already generated, you would then see what recession or even depression is REALLY about.

Communism does not work, we already saw what happened to the Soviet Union, and we are already in the hybrid social-communistic government; the market is social-capitalist and the government is the opposite, two worlds are colliding.

But back to the point, I would be all for setting up a fair/flat tax, where truly everyone is fairly treated… don’t spend your money on crap you don’t need, like alcohol and cigarettes and your cell phone and cable tv…budget yourselves out properly, then you might find out that you may have a few dollars here and there available.

America is the country of great ideas, inventors, innovators, entrepreneurs, visionaries, and such…So if someone has been able to find something that the other people want or need, and they happen to make a fortune off of that product…what is so wrong with them buying their Lexuses, (or is it Lexii for plural?) their two maids (or maybe 4 maids), their 2 mansions, and full garden crews and landscapers? Right now I see because of this one man’s or woman’s lavish spending…I see over 3000 people being employed for their ‘livin’ large’ lifestyle…2900 workin for Lexus building/designing/maintaining/dealerships/transporting, 1-3 property management agents, 4 people for maids, 5-12 others for landscaping…oh what about them going out to ‘nice’ restaurants a few times a week, or taking a plane (or their private jet) somewhere, going on a tour…whatever you get the point…

So because you don’t have nowhere near as much as them, so what? It doesn’t give anyone the excuse to moan and complain about the rich; if you don’t like it…then take a risk, come up with an idea or something that people want or need… take the risk…you may and probably will fail, but if you keep trying, you might come up with something…and if you do, would you like the rest of America cry that “it’s not fair, we want your money”

On another note, about the rich businessman or inventor, passing riches to the children of theirs and they are inheriting the money and living large, well again…so what? What do you expect? What would you do if you were in that situation? I would make sure my family is taken care of first off? So whine and moan about Paris Hilton because of her father making all of the money and she is just living off the rewards of her dad…I’m sure it would be the same situation if you were involved. What do you expect? Mr. Hilton coming to your house, just cutting you a check for a butt-load of money, for no reason…he just walks up to you on the side of the road or knocking on your door on a Saturday morning? That would just be insane if you think that would happen. Any normal human being would never expect that…

As the purpose of this site is to point the issue with the government, not the people of America; pointing the taxation gun at the people is not the way to stimulate growth. It’s by shutting down certain departments and reducing the size of government. So it means you will just have to pay out of pocket for some things if you want it versus relying on everyone else paying for you.
Maybe a shutdown of the National EPA? Most states have their own EPA and the standards are much higher than the Federal levels anyways; plus the state EPAs would have a better idea what the citizens want and need for the local environments versus the national level.

Just a nutshell, government does not create permanent jobs, except for its own agencies…so our answer to our market is not government assistance or interference, they must ease off the regulation that oversteps itself, and its not increased taxes…it’s the government to get its spending back into the black…even if the checkbook equals $0 dead on…the world markets just needs to see the stability of America and her government before tension will release. If investors see that “America isn’t making progress on reducing the overall debt right now, but they sure as hell aren’t taking more debt on their ‘credit card,’ I can do some business again.”

You get enough people back into work, and the yearly net loss/gain is $0; once those people start working again, we will once again get into net gains from tax income…as that comes, then we keep the size of government the same for a while, and we use any and all surplus to pay back the debts to other countries (like China); we do something like that, and we will have an era of American Prosperity again that will make the roaring 20′s and any other economic climb we ever had look like NOTHING compared to this, and it won’t be based off of some ‘bubble’ either (such as .com and housing)…

I can keep going…but taxing the rich more and more isn’t the answer…

15% flat income tax no deductions even for corps. cap CC interest at 4x prime rate do away with congrsional benefits and make them the same as military benefits. Make Obama pay for the damn busses!!!

    • T Cole says:

I agree with the flat income tax……………

    • Jabber says:

The flat tax might work and be fair only if the government stops collecting money for Social Security, Medicare, etc. in the form of payroll taxes, but continues to provide the benefits. Otherwise, the so-called flat tax would be totally unfair and regressive. For any tax plan to be revenue neutral (produce the same amount of total revenue nationwide), if some are going to pay less, others will have to pay more. Large numbers of average citizens who support this change in the name of simplicity would wind up on the wrong side of this equation. Then there are the miriad of state and local taxes to effect the fairness issue. I have mixed feelings about making service in Congress too spartan an ordeal. None but the rich can now afford to take time off from work to serve now. Making it less rewarding would put it even farther beyond the reach of the average, non-corporate funded, individual.

Regarding the busses, I think the president of this great country should have the best available comfort, security, and ability to communicate when he’s traveling, so let’s pay for them. Besides, their manufacture creates American jobs, and add a little needed stimulus to the economy. They’ll also be available to presidential candidates of both parties, and subsequent presidents.

Those of you who think you can tax corporations and solve the problem are lunatics…what do you think corporations do when tax rates go up? They raise prices…so when you say “tax corporations” you are really saying “tax me more.”

    • Jabber says:

One good reason to tax corporate profits is so that we, the tax paying public, get some say in how the profits get recycled. We can put the money into roads, public transportation, parks, etc., that corporations have no interest in since they don’t improve their bottom line. If corporations raise their prices, the public can always inovate or spend its money elsewhere. Romney has said that ‘corporations are people’, but if they are people, they are a very strange kind of people, who simply by signing documents of incorporation limit their liability for their actions. We are entering a strange new world following the Supreme Court’s ‘Citizens United’ decision which makes corporations superhuman. They will now have a louder voice than any private citizen and it’s difficult to see where the ramifications of this will end. I think we will all dread the end product of this decision to give corporations this kind of power over our political process.

the president and congress has put us in this mess, they should put all their salaries into the economy, cut out their stupidity, and do what is best for the people…and clean up the country…

    • Tony Krause says:

Funny though, but not at the same time, our ‘Public’ officials have better incomes and work far less (including load) then most of the American people, but they are the only group of people that can change their pay by simply voting it into power (sure it may not take effect until next term).

If our government is truly for our people, then perhaps they should be payed maybe at 110% of the Federal established poverty line…$43,000 a year is fair enough for sitting on your arse for a few hours a day and talking about stuff… (calculated for a family of four). If you don’t like the pay then do something for the people that will raise the line, and I am not talking about inflation either…

Wouldn’t it be nice if America prospered to the point where the median income was $50,000 for the ‘lower class’ family of four? Without the inflation or devalue of our money… At that point you could justify paying a congressman/woman $80,000 a year because if the people prosper, then the government can prosper…

  28. We have an idiot in office seeking advice from the ignorant. You CANNOT spend your way out of debt…It is impossible all you do is dig a deeper hole. What people don’t understand and they don’t want to understand because they desperately want to hold on to the idea that our elected officials actually care about us. But what they haven’t been able to wrap their mind around is the fact that Obama is trying to destroy our country. He is trying to make us all so dependent on the Government dime that we fall into a Socialist cavern so deep we can’t get out. We have go to wake up and put a stop to it before it is to late! We have got to stop sleep walking through life not paying attention to what is going on or our children will live in a totally different America than we did. If we don’t make Obama a one term president we are SOOOO SCREWED!

    • Jabber says:

Although we may not be able to spend our way out of debt, we can spend our way out of a recession. Recession is the biggest problem right now, and needs to be dealt with. For proof, just look at the history of the Great Depression. Roosevelt, in 3+ terms in office, spent us out of it. Even the massive spending needed to fight WWII helped end the Depression. When the war ended, national debt was much higher, as a percentage of GNP, than it is now, and we were on the way to eliminating it all before Bush took office and put in place the seeds of our current economic mess. Sorry, but the money must be spent, or things will just get worse. Surely you’re smart enough to see that.

      • Tony Krause says:

WWII was the ONLY reason why we got out of the depression. Government imposing massive spending during that era because of the foundation of the “New Deal” would have spelled out the end of America in that era if it wasn’t for WWII to erase that mistake; when the end of the war came about, I agree that the national debt was much higher, but the difference of then and now is the fact that America had a massive infrastructure of manufacturing that can produce something to where it would be sold by service…

The issue at hand is we do not have a balance in the private sector here… we need to have private manufacturing here again to compliment our massive service industries. Government can easily help that one by simply imposing massive tariffs on imported goods while at the same time lower the corporate tax for companies that create their products within the States would be an immediate spark which would reignite this economy.

As far as Bush, he wasn’t good, he wasn’t bad either… he certainly could have been better, but then again every president could be dropped into the same light… what you are seeing is the end of the .com crash era and the housing bubble popping… Clinton got the enjoyment of the .com rise and left office just moments before the .com era really burst…

Sure money should be spent, but not by government…but by the people, but the people need a reason to spend…period

I don’t see it right now…maybe a few investments here and there because of some tanked stocks right now, but I have the feeling that they will rise, it’s risk, but I will take…
