Public Pulse: should cuts be considered in every program?
According to ABC/Washington Post, 56% of adults prefer a smaller government with fewer services and 38% prefer a larger government with more services.
According to Rasmussen, 64% of likely voters think thoughtful spending cuts should be considered in every program of the federal government. Only 24% disagree with considering cuts in every government program. When asked if thoughtful spending cuts should be considered in every government program except the military, just 39% agreed. A plurality (49%) opposes protecting the military from the mix of potential cuts.
According to NBC/Washington Post, when given two options, 56% of adults think Congress should concentrate on keeping the budget deficit down even though it may take the economy longer to recover. 38% think Congress should worry more about boosting the economy even though it may mean larger deficits.
According to Resurgent Republic, when given two choices, 36% of registered voters are more worried the debt super-committee will make too many spending cuts. 51% are more worried the committee will not make enough spending cuts.
