Public Pulse: what will a debt ceiling increase mean?
Several polls, including a Gallup survey, asked about Americans’ concerns about raising the federal debt ceiling. According to Gallup, when given two options, 32% of adults are more worried that a major economic crisis will result if the debt limit is not raised. 51% are more worried about raising the limit without spending cuts.
According to Pew/Washington Post, when asked how concerned they were that raising the debt ceiling might lead to higher government spending and higher debt, 51% of adults said they were very concerned; 27% said they were somewhat concerned; 12% said they were not too concerned; and 7% said they were not at all concerned.
According to Rasmussen, 55% of likely voters believe government spending cuts help the economy. 24% think spending cuts hurt the economy while 11% say they have no impact.
According to Quinnipiac, 71% of registered voters think the country is in recession. Only 25% think it is not recession.
According to Rasmussen, 70% of likely voters believe government regulations hurt small businesses more than big businesses while 13% think big businesses are hurt more. 16% were not sure.

How can they say it’s a recession, when all the markers say it is inflation. Everthing costs more…..inflation. Gas, milk, bread, meat, anything that gets shipped now cost more ——inflation.

Also if it’s such a big problem them all congress and the senate should take a pay cut of FIFTY PERCENT. Until they get their job done, its called incentive. And fair, at over 172,000.00 a year plus perks, I never made that much in 12 years let alone one. And the fact that they can vote themselves raises. The country I live in the employers give the raises…….and as it should be WE are their bosses, we should vote on their raises and benefits…..
