PUBLIC NOTICE ANNOUNCES NATIONAL TELEVISION AD MARKING THREE YEARS WITHOUT A BUDGET FROM CONGRESS
TV Ad Caps Weeklong Advocacy Campaign

Arlington, VA— Public Notice today announced a national television ad for Sunday, April 29, marking the third anniversary of the last budget passed by Congress.  This ad will conclude a weeklong advocacy campaign from Public Notice as part of its Bankrupting America project.  The campaign launched on Monday, April 23, with a web video, grassroots call to action and Twitter hashtag campaign.

The television ad will run nationally on cable news networks and in the DC market on broadcast networks.

Gretchen Hamel, executive director of Public Notice, issued the following statement regarding the announcement:

“Our campaign to highlight Congress’ failure to pass a budget in three years drew such an overwhelming response, we wanted to ensure members of Congress and policymakers in Washington were paying attention,” said Hamel.  “As talking heads and elected officials begin looking forward to Election Day, I urge them to not forget the important business of budgeting that remains unfinished.  Congress is spending hard-earned taxpayer dollars without a plan, digging America deeper into debt.  Taxpayers are paying attention, even if Congress isn’t.”
