Public Notice Statement:

Senate Votes Down House Budget

Gretchen Hamel, Executive Director of Public Notice, said the following:

“Today we are facing one of the most daunting fiscal and economic challenges in our nation’s history.  Yet, the Senate’s actions late yesterday demonstrated Washington’s main focus is on scoring cheap political points.  These kind of ‘gotcha’ games serve no one, and waste precious time that should be spent finding meaningful solutions.  It will be our third-straight year without a federal budget.  When will lawmakers understand that Americans sent them to Washington to pass a real budget that will get our fiscal house in order? For the sake of our nation, let’s hope it’s soon.”
