WORKING HARD: If we can do it – why can’t Washington?
Public Notice Places TV Ad on National Cable Outlets
Arlington, VA — The past few years have been difficult for a majority of Americans having to make financial sacrifices to live within their means and stick to a budget; it’s time Washington shows some responsibility and leadership to produce a budget, spend smarter and change its irresponsible spending ways. BankruptingAmerica.org, an educationsal project of Public Notice that explores the policies hindering economic opportunity and growth in America, re-launches a national television ad – “Working Hard”– in which a mother talks candidly about her own family’s struggles to meet a budget and Washington’s negligence to live within its means.
The 30-second TV ad originally aired on Sunday talk shows and today will show on national cable outlets: Bloomberg, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, Fox News Channel, and Fox Business Network.
Gretchen Hamel, executive director of Public Notice, said,
“It’s been a tough few years for American families as moms, dads, and all Americans have been sticking to a budget, prioritizing and planning for the future, and stretching every penny just to make ends meet.
“The federal government is digging a hole so fast that no matter what Americans do, it cannot be filled. We have an opportunity to save, preserve and strengthen our nation by following the lead of American families and doing more with less. It’s time that Washington takes responsibility for its actions, takes a lead to pass a federal budget and makes the same sacrifices as Americans do every day to live within their means and plan for the future.”
