Yesterday, the Senate easily passed a minibus spending bill to fund certain parts of the federal government through fiscal year 2011.
The legislation combined three appropriations bills to fund the Departments of Agriculture; Commerce, Justice and Science; and Transportation and Housing and Urban Development in one $128 billion spending package.
The bill passed easily by a vote of 69-30 with one member not voting, and will now go into conference for compromise between the House and the Senate before heading to the President for signature.
This vote comes over two months into the fiscal year, yet allows those agencies to avoid funding by a continuing resolution. To see how your senator voted, click here.
