Crazy Washington Honey Badgers

For decades, Washington has been on a spending spree driving us deeper and deeper in debt. In fact, just this morning, Agence France Presse reported that the U.S.’s gross debt has reached 100% of GDP for the first time since after World War II. Most recently this trend resulted in a mind-spinning debt ceiling debate where it seemed like lawmakers had totally lost their minds.

In our latest video, Randall (of Honey Badger fame) gives us a rundown of just how crazy Washington got over the last month. Watch below!

    If you don’t stand for at least some progressive (as opposed to regressive) tax increases, then you don’t stand for “common sense” solutions.

      You don’t stand for progressive taxes. You bend over for them. Though, you look like you would enjoy that.

      When the progressive / (liberals) can’t agrue a point based on fact they haul out the old Straw Horse which in this case is “common sense”. There isn’t anything common about sense today.
      Watch next will be the class warefare straw horse!

        Not quite sure what a “straw horse” is, but I’m not appealing to common sense – the video is. It claims there’s some “common sense” way out of this, but all it wants to do is trim some (relatively tiny) spending issues. My complaint with this ad (and this whole site) is that there’s no meat on the bones. It’s all well and good to talk about wasteful spending and “common sense,” but that doesn’t actually fix a real problem.

        As it turns out, running the global economy is a lot messier than any simplifying analogy of the federal government’s budget to household budgets or credit cards would suggest. The sense you need to navigate those complexities isn’t common; it’s nuanced. Part of that nuance has to be progressive taxation.

    If you can’t raise taxes then no money. Why is that no talks about WELFARE put them to work, you know why they can’t the goverment and the unions tought them how to not work and still live high on the hog .If you are getting welfare then drug testing should be in you future. Why is it we don’t have the WPA anymore? Better to make them work and earn, unlike congress they hang out forgeting who they work for. I say fire the bunch and lets start over!

    To those who want to solve our current problem with more progressive taxation, I have a challenge. Don’t quote Democratic talking points, just do your own research based on demographic data and current market projections. What percent of income of people making over $250k must we take from them to fund the government teat to satisfy your goals for “social justice”? If you show your work and sources, and the numbers work I will seriously consider getting on the band wagon of “redistributive change”. Oh and in your calculations don’t forget to include the $100 trillion + in unfunded liabilities for SS and medicare. Get back to me ASAP because I trust that you can show me a path to Hope and Change.
