Instead of budgeting, Congress is …
With all of the attention on the BP oil spill, the European debt crisis and even financial regulatory reform, the fact that Congress hasn’t passed (and will likely not pass) a federal budget is flying under the radar.
To quote the words of the House Majority Leader, “The most basic responsibility of governing – enacting a budget.”
So what has Congress been so busy doing that they can’t find the time to pass a budget? Watch this 2:10-minute video and find out.

How debilitating to learn that Congress has spent hours and hours of time passing meaningless resolutions i.e. honoring Phil Nicholson for winning a golf tournament, Assistant Principas Week, 217th birthday of Sam Houston, and of all things- honoring American Craft Beer Week! Come on, Congress – let’s get that budget passed – and more importantly, let’s pass a BALANCED budget! If you need help, call on some of our highly qualified US citizens who are in fact worthy of their work and will get the job done without wasting time and money!

How can they expect us to take them seriously anymore when they can’t even take their own jobs seriously?

This video really doesn’t have anything to do with “why” congress is not going to pass a budget resolution for 2011. The real reason is “because the issue of the soaring national debt hangs over every policy debate in Washington” according to Hoyer.

Also it gets worse, do you realize that every law that congress and the senate pass leaves each and every member of congress and the senate exempt from those laws. Everyone asks why would someone run foroffice and spend lets say 2 million dollars to make just $150,000.00 a year. The answer of course the kick backs they recieve from companies getting them to pass bills favoring companies who are looking to spend and make millions in their state, of course these are called campaign contributions and not anything illegal.
What I would like to see is everyone who votes, please vote for anyone other than the incumbant or the person in office already, thus making it not as profitable for someone to spend 2 million on a race only to make 2.1 million back.
Also to limit coruption in government they should pass a bill only allowing a two term position, also eliminating the chance of them making unmeasurable profits.
Most say this starts leading down the path of socialism, I just contend it eliminates the chance of them amassing wealth and power beyond our wildest dream.
One person does not need 8 houses a yacht 18 different autos and several planes and so many millions of dollars as they could never spend in 80 lifetimes, especially while children lack education because of budget cuts, and homeless live in boxes and tent cities in a country where one of the wealthy could support every homeless person for a year and a country as wealthy as we are say it’s not my problem, it is eveyone’s problem who put these people in charge.
