It’s time for a little Fiscal Fidelity
We all have heard the classic Washington scandal of a Congressman being unfaithful. The indiscretion usually causes a public outcry leading to a public apology and resignation. But what happens when a member of Congress is unfaithful to the economy?
For decades Washington has spent far beyond its means. This overspending has saddled the country with a national debt of over $15 trillion – a point at which it is now hamstringing economic growth. And even now, as the economy begs for attention, lawmakers are unable to make things right.
As millions of Americans sit out of work and a recovery falters, isn’t it time Washington shows a little fiscal fidelity?

There is no doubt spending must be be severly cut. What concerns me is that the baby will be thrown out with the bath water. There are many legitimate needs for federal funds, but what has been cut in the past has been too often without consideration of the results.

Realy how about taking their Benifits, walkaround money, and get a hold of congress and get a watch dog to help watch their illegal tradeings. You have to rember that when we bailed out the banks and wallstreet we actualy bailed out members holdings. What we need is for the people to take back this Country, and at ELECTION time send a loud and clear message!!!!!!!!

Speaking of election time…has it occured to anyone why we still use the “electoral voting system”? It was put into place when the constitution was written because at that time, it was impossible to tally votes for the entire U.S. as a whole. Things have obviously changed, but the government hasn’t. There have been a few times in history where the electoral vote won even though the popular had a different outcome. Maybe it’s time we vote as one nation.
